AISI 1018 carbon steel bars have about 0.15-0.20% Carbon, 0.60-0.90% Manganese, and a small amount of Phosphorus and Sulfur, which provide excellent weldability, good machinability, and good tensile strength (~440 MPa) with good ductility and toughness.
