Carbon Steel EN-8 Bars consist of iron with 0.35% to 0.45% carbon, manganese (0.60-0.90%), phosphorus (up to 0.04%), and sulfur (up to 0.05%). This composition provides EN-8 with its hardness and strength. Mechanical properties are tensile strength of 550-700 MPa, yield strength of 300 MPa, and elongation of 15-20%. It possesses good toughness, wear resistance, and can be machined and heat-treated easily for enhanced hardness. EN-8 is widely applied in uses such as shafts, gears, and axles that demand medium strength and durability.
