EN 8 Sheets and plates with EN 8 are often medium-carbon steel products with compositions of 0.36-0.44% carbon, 0.6-1.0% manganese, with small quantities of silicon, sulfur and phosphorus. They have great tensile strength (540-700 MPa) and fair impact resistance, with a normalised hardness between 152-207 HB. The plates are easy to machine, weld and heat-treated to enhance their properties.
