EN 9 Sheet and Plates are carbon steel products with composition mainly consisting of carbon (0.50–0.60%), manganese (0.50–0.90%), and trace amounts of silicon, phosphorus, and sulfur. They possess very good tensile strength (upto 600 MPa) and hardness and are, therefore, well suited for wear-resistant applications. Possessing good machinability and weldability, they are moderately tough and durable under stress. Benefits are good wear resistance, affordability, and applicability in gears, shafts, and axles. The plates have extensive applications in automotive, construction, and machinery sectors because of their versatile mechanical properties.
